Our History

For many years there has been a desire for a JCDA court in not only our city but also in the state. There hasn't been a JCDA court for years. CDA Our Lady of Belen #1359 Youth Spoke Committee appointed Sandra Jaquez and Elena Martin as Co-Chairs for the JCDA. Together Sandra and Elena began brainstorming on ideas. Then the idea of a Recruitment Tea Party came into action. With the help of Amanda Leon, CDA Members, and the JCDA Chairs, the 1st recruitment meeting was a success. There was 14 young ladies ready to sign up. At the 2nd recruitment meeting the number of potential charter members went from 14 to 18. Three months later, on March 10, 2019 JCDA Our Lady of the Holy Rosary #1359 was instituted. During the Mass, two more young ladies stood up requesting to become JCDA members. This brought the number of Charter Members up to 20! Currently, they have over 30 members. Since our institution, the JCDA ladies have participated in many court events and parish events. They strive to do at least one service project each month. The journey since our first year continues...and the pandemic hasn't stopped us.
